I embrace life. I am carefree but harmless. I am playful but serious. I am complacent but not indifferent. I am a bowl of contradictions, but that's the first thing that makes me interesting.

Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

The Family Stone - Best Christmas Movie

Punyeta! Naiyak ako! Well, di naman humagulgol with matching dripping sipon. Naluha lang actually. But not really masama ang loob ko after watching the movie (hindi sa pirated DVD). Akala ko it's just another movie na may twist sa huli like what i saw in the trailer. Yung twist that Clair Danes will end up with Dermot when he is actually engaged to Sarah Jessica Parker (sister ni Claire Danes) wherein Sarah Jessica Parker ended up with Dermot's brother, Luke Wilson. May ibang pampaiyak moments pa!

Warning, sa mga di pa napapanuod, may spoilers on my post.

Spoliers:

Dermot's family is really great. May history din bawat isa. Rachel McAdams played the youngest Stone. May pagka-bitch. Ayaw ayaw pa kay Brad but eventually, she ended up with him. There's the gay Stone who was married with a black guy. Luke Wilson is the "prodigal son" pero he's being a prodigal son was not explained in the movie. There's the buntis Stone. Then there's papa Stone and mama Stone. Teka, bakit ba Stone... Eh kasi Family Stone nga yung title eh. Actually, it's the Stone Family.

ANo nga ba nagpaiyak sa akin. Actually, 5 scenes. Everthing happened during the Christmas Week at the Stone's residence.

1. When nalaman ni Luke Wilson, from his dad, that Diane Keaton is sick (breast cancer) and malapit ng mamatay. Luke Wilson hugged Diane and he said, "I Love You Mom!"
2. When Sarah Jessica Parker, being so outspoken, discussed that it's best to have a straight kid. I mean, they started discussing what race (black, asian, or white) yung adopted baby nung gay couple. Then the discussion ended up with, would you prefer a gay baby. Sarah Jessica Parker kept on arguing that it's best to have a straight baby. Take note, gay yung isang member ng Stone family. Daddy Stone suddenly shouted, "ENOUGH!" When Sarah Jessica Parker left the dinner table, the gay actor (di lang pala siya gay, pipi din pala) was in shock and parang tulala. Diane Keaton threw a fork at him to get his attention and she said, "You're as normal as your brothers and sisters. I love you, remember that!" Naluha lang ako. Huhuhu.
3. Dermot was in a snob-mode with his mom. He's asking for his grandma's wedding ring so that he can propose to Sarah. Early Christmas morning, Diane Keaton handed him the ring pero masama na loob niya. Then Diane said something and then she said that she's sick and she might not be there on his wedding. Naiyak ako when i saw Dermot's face turned from a snobbinh look to a nakaka-awang bata face. As in! The nhe hugged Diane Keaton, still with is nakaka-awa look. Syet!
4. Sarah Jessica Parker handed out her Christmas Gifts to everyone. It was a framed photo of Diane Keaton nung buntis pa sya. She thought it was during Diane's pregnancy with Dermot but actually, it was her pregnancy with Rachel McAdams. I think at this point, alam na ng lahat about Diane's condition. So tahimik lahat. Oh shit!
5. At the end of the movie, 1 year after, they celebrated Christmas again at the Stone's residence. The gay couple adopted a black baby, Rachel hooked up with Brad (the guy who popped his cherry.. wahahaha), Dermot + Claire, Luke + Sarah. At the very end, nakafocus yung camera sa framed photo ni Diane Keaton when she was pregnant with Rashel. Haaaay...

I suggest you watch this movie. Kahit nakwento ko na, maiiyak kayo. This can be a date movie and you can test if you're date has emotions or just hooking up with you for sex. It'sa romantic-comedy-turned-drama.
