I embrace life. I am carefree but harmless. I am playful but serious. I am complacent but not indifferent. I am a bowl of contradictions, but that's the first thing that makes me interesting.

 Word for the day: NEW

We can learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull.
Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

Maytinis 2005

Before Paskuhan sa Imus, Kawit celebrated Maytinis. Aside from the colorful lanterns and the marching band competition, the Kawit Church (St. Mary Magdalene Parish Church) has the wonderful Belen. The Maytinis Parade, a parade of Bible-inspired floats, is the key attraction of the Maytinis Festival.

From Adam and Eve, Abraham, King David, Samson and Delilah, etc. From the Old Testament to the New Testament; from Pagbati (Annunciation) to Panunuluyan (Mary and Joseph in-search for a place to stay). The Panunuluyan float stops for about 3-4 houses. Singing and asking the “maybahay” to let them in wherein the “maybahay” refuses and asks them to leave. The Panunuluyan will end up in the Kawit Church (as the manger), at the Belen altar. Sheppard and Angels singing Vamos while Mary and Joseph climb up the belen. I once became a sheppard singing "Vamos a Belen" on high notes... Blech!

Aside from the Biblical floats, we have the “payaso” and at the end, we have the Inang Pilipinas float sponsored by the Kawit Jaycees. Anyway, here are some pics from the 2005 Maytinis Parade. You can see more pics by visiting Niccolo's PBASE Album
