do we really need to suck up?

From my previous blog, i mentioned the unproven hypothesis that i had regarding Filipino Masochists... Oo, and Pinoy Masokista sa Trabaho! That's why a lot of international companies have their factories here. It's good for the economy, it's good for each unemployed Filipinos. We work hard everyday just to please everyone. Everyone, even Filipino bosses. But i believe i have to inch myself away from being a complete masochist.

Later this afternoon, i was in our section meeting discussing ways on how we could manage our development plans (which was good). After which, we ate a slice of blueberry cheesecake courtesy of Jason (i miss those cheesecakes already), and discussed some items to focus on this week. And so i thought that I'll end Monday smoothly... Errrr... Wrong!

As Jona discussed some new expectations regarding WIP Space analysis, I was beginning to evaluate if i really need to do it. I'm still okay with the new opportunity that I'll be working for the next 2 weeks (linear programming, here I go). But then came another issue about MH (Material Handlers) wherein MFG has no idea how many of them should be working for MFG. The "Monster" asked for some help from IEs regarding MH allocation. Now we were asked to do it. Though it's pretty simple to do some workload analysis, EH PUCHA PATI BA NAMAN YUN PRO-PROBLEMAHIN KO! Now I'm wondering who takes more responsibility and accountability.

During the meeting, i then made a comment, "Pati ba naman yun? Di ba nila kayang isipin kung pano yun eh simleng workload analysis lang yun." And so i thought, i'll get away with the MH Workload analysis, well, it backfired. I need to do it in my area. "Kailangan nating kunin ang kiliti ni Beth."

Eto sandpaper, kiskis mo sa pwet mo! Wahahahaha!

I told myself to think positive, and be positive. But what do positive energies attracts? Yup, Negative beats. So I'm turning this one from a negative reaction to a more positive one. I'll do it, but it will not be my priority. This will increase my emotional bank account with MFG. Pero sa totoo lang, I'm still am wondering why we (IEs) should do it. Well, i never committed to do this, but this is again, one of those rhetorical questions. My favorite: "Sino pa bang gagawa kundi tayo?" I'm a Pinoy Masokista in the making.

In reality, I'm not all positive. I love Machiavelli's "The Prince." So for those who read the book, you'd understand where I'm going, and what I might do in the future. The masochistic facade will eventually wither away, revealing a dark horse ready to strike.

do we really need to suck up? well, for now, i guess so. But not forever.
